1. How can I apply for admission in ROOTS, Hyderabad?

You download the Application Form from the website and send in the filled in form by post. You can also submit your application on the spot before the admission process date. The cost of the Application kit is Rs. 500/-, please attach a DD of Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of ROOTS on State Bank of India, payable at HYDERABAD.

2. What is the minimum eligibility criterion for Admissions at ROOTS?

With min 50% from any stream. Migration Certificate / Transfer Certificate to be compulsorily submitted after admission is granted. .

3. What is the cut-off score for admission to ROOTS?

50% aggregate marks in any stream. We can consider candidates with lower scores provided they possess good aptitude at reasoning, logic and analytics and business acumen.

4. Does ROOTS provide hostel accommodation facilities for Boys /Girls?

Yes. An additional cost has to be borne by the student. ROOTS has tie-up with decent hostels located very near to the Campus.

5. Is Bank Loan provided to students who hail from different parts of the state/country?

A number of banks in the country extend education loans to prospective students. ROOTS has entered into a formal tie-up with HDFC Bank for granting educational Loan. We have also approached other leading banks to extend educational loans for prospective students and are in the process of tying up with them very shortly.

6. What are the facilities offered by ROOTS?

ROOTS is an independent 5 storied integrated building with 20,000 sq. ft. It is centrally located at Somajiguda, the most prestigious address of Hyderabad. It is a state of art campus with all sophisticated infrastructure and amenities with a corporate feel.

7. What is the profile of the Faculty?

10. What is the Progression possibility?

The Edexcel HND is recognised by universities in UK, US, Canada and Australia as suitable exemption for part of their degree courses. At the end of the course, successful students with suitable grades can proceed to the final year of the Degree in appropriate courses in Universities of UK, Australia, Canada etc.

Edexcel has received confirmation from the following universities in the United Kingdom that they recognise Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diplomas gained outside the UK and will welcome applications from students with such qualifications

11. What is HND?

HND is short for Higher National Diploma. The Higher National Diploma qualification has obtained recognition throughout the world as both a route to employment and as a suitable exemption for a part of a university degree. The Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Studies, Media & Journalism, Fashion & Clothing have been developed to enable participants to exploit knowledge of respective domains to further their own aspirations.

12. Is HND a degree programme?

The Higher National Diploma creates progression routes to a degree. HND holders are accepted into the second or third year of a related degree course in scores of institutions worldwide.

13. Is HND a recognised qualification? What after that?

HND is a recognised qualification for higher education or employment. After successful completion of the HND you could move on to the third year of a related degree course in the UK, US & Australia or do a Top-up Degree Programme while in India itself.

14. What will be the teaching methodology?

Teaching will be through interactive class environment wherein the students will be taught by expert faculty at ROOTS. There will also be practical assignments, feedback and support sessions.

15. What are the benefits of doing HND?

HND is a balanced mix of practical and theory. The HND provides you with ‘hands on’ application of the technology you learn. You can study it in India and save on costs of studying it in the UK. The Value of HND is exactly the same as that completed in the UK.

16. How do I pass/ Complete HND?

The focus of HND being on practical knowledge, all units are evaluated through continuous assignments and assessments, projects built into the programme and tests for authentication of knowledge gained.

17. Who conducts tests?

Tests and assignments are set up and evaluated by the approved centres (ROOTS) of Edexcel within the framework provided by Edexcel. Assignments, tests and their assessments are audited by Edexcel’s External verifiers continuously to maintain standards.

18. How does Edexcel ensure that same standards are maintained across all centers Worldwide?

Edexcel has a strong quality assurance system which includes Quality Audit, External verification and regular visits to the centres by UK and regional staff.

19. How can I progress to degrees from HND?

HNDs are offered in the UK by large number of Further Education Colleges and Universities. As HNDs currriculum covers 1.5 years to 2 Years curriculum of most Universities, HND graduates are considered by Universities in the UK for admission to 2nd semester of 2nd year or final year of undergraduate degree programme.
